What is social entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship is the practice of identifying, starting, and growing businesses that address social, cultural, or environmental issues.

Unlike traditional businesses that focus primarily on profit, social enterprises prioritize creating a positive impact while ensuring financial sustainability.

Unlike NGOs, which rely on donations and grants, social enterprises generate profits to reinvest and expand their impact.

Why learn about and practice social entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship enables you to:

Address Important Issues

Social entrepreneurs tackle problems that are often overlooked or underserved by traditional business models, such as poverty, climate change, and human rights

Create Sustainable Solutions

Unlike charity-based approaches, social entrepreneurship seeks to create lasting change through sustainable, self-sufficient business models that can scale and adapt over time.

Find Personal Fulfillment

Many social entrepreneurs are deeply passionate about making a difference in the world. They find fulfillment in working on meaningful projects that align with their values and passions.

Empower
Others

Social enterprises often focus on empowering marginalized or underserved communities by creating jobs, providing education, or supporting local economies. It’s a new way of thinking that prioritizes social impact alongside financial sustainability.
