Wellbeing

Generative and collaborative Peer Learning Community for Wellbeing

Teaching internationally brings together a wide range of cultures, beliefs and experiences, however, an agreed common denominator of why we teach is always ‘the student comes first’ and in particular student wellbeing. However, have we fallen into a trap of trying to ‘fix’ students when it comes to their wellbeing rather than tackle the underlying context in which they are operating day in and day out; the school environment? Through this community, we will explore the range of barriers and enablers each community faces, review Helen Street’s Model of Contextual Well-being, and engage in appreciative inquiry to develop both short-term and long-term steps to maintain, support and improve the well-being of your whole community.
