Generative and collaborative Peer Learning Community for Student Leadership

This community is dedicated to encouraging and equipping supervisors of student leadership teams in Mainland China and Hong Kong in developing student leaders. Educators looking to be involved in developing student leaders are also welcome to join us.

As part of our community, learn about topics relevant to student leadership, share great ideas with peers who understand your context, all while developing a deeper understanding of your role in developing student leaders at your school.

Steve Hackman

Steve Hackman is a Hong Kong based educator and speaker who has been the Head of Christian and Community Development at Yew Chung Education Foundation for more than a decade. In that role he has had the privilege to be able to travel across the network of YCEF schools developing service-learning and student leadership in various capacities including training workshops, experiential trips, and individual consulting. He has a passion to see students and teachers alike develop to their full potential and experience a life flourishing.

Stuart Lawrence

Stuart Lawrence is a British educator, author, and activist who advocates for equality, diversity, and inclusion in education and society. brother of Stephen Lawrence, a young black man tragically murdered in a racially motivated attack in 1993. This event had a profound impact on Stuart’s life and inspired him to become an advocate for justice and equality.
 
Stuart grew up in London and attended the University of Northampton, earned a degree in Graphic Communications. After graduation, he worked in various roles before deciding to pursue a career in education. In 2019, Stuart published his first book, “Silence is Not an Option: You Can Impact the World for Change”, sharing his personal story and calling.
