Product Design Teachers (Secondary)

Generative and collaborative Peer Learning Community for Product Design TeachersΒ

Sharing ideas, becoming inspired, and growing together in a collaborative environment. As an online community, we seek to bring Design to life for students by staying grounded in the authentic principles of design and making it fun and engaging.

Together we will strive to create meaningful connections with our members, allowing them to develop their design skills and explore new possibilities within the classroom. We want to provide a space for our members to make their mark, to create something unique, and to be part of something bigger.

David McMahon

Originally from Ireland, David has been teaching Design in Middle and High Schools for over 12 years. He is currently teaching MYP and DP Design at UNIS Hanoi and over the years, David has taught in Ireland, the UK, China and Sri Lanka. David believes design education is all about creating an environment of curiosity and creativity. In addition to teaching, David works as a workshop facilitator with the IB as well as co-hosting “The Learning Factory” podcast with colleague and friend Jesse Donnelly.

Jesse Donnelly

Jesse has worked in international schools in China, Cambodia, Peru and Fiji. Originally from Australia, Jesse is currently the Deputy Head of Secondary at the International School of Suva, Fiji. Jesse has been involved with MYP Design for the last 14 years. He believes a strong design programme shouldn’t be based on how many expensive toys are in the classroom but on how authentic the programme is. Jesse regularly conducts Design workshops for IB around the Asia Pacific region and is also a CIS school evaluator. He co-hosts “The Learning Factory Podcast” in his spare time with great mate David McMahon.
